The New Year dawned with dense fog. In the morning it positively stank of gun powder, released from the fireworks last night. Later in the day, the pollution faded and the fog just smelled of - fog. Visibility was less than 150 yards, as I could not see to the bottom of the street, which is 150 yards long. Went to visit my uncle, who will be 89 later this month. The fog made a walk rather pointless - I like to look around and enjoy the views, but none of that today.
This is the archive of The Shell Gallery blog, which was active between 2008 and 2018. It is dedicated to the memory of my mother, who died in May 2008, and to that of my father, who passed away in August 2022. The Watch Tower stands to the north, overlooking the open Heathlands
The Shell Gallery also refers to the island of Vlieland, which has zillions of shells on its beaches.
