Very wet

The contrast with yesterday could not be greater. It has been raining virtually all day, and we're on a miserable 18C / 64F. Twenty-four hours ago, it was nearly 15 degrees C warmer. However, yesterday evening saw a good set of thunderstorms passing through. The last of the hot weather is being driven out of Holland as I type.

A few days ago, reports surfaced that the case related to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann was heading for closure. Young Madeleine, who would have been 5 this year, disappeared in May 2007 whilst on holiday with her parents in the Portuguese Algarve. In spite of an unprecendented media campaign, sight nor sound of the girl has been had.

poor Madeleine can't even have a decent burial if she isn't alive.
Take care

It sounds like we have the same sort of weather here. Although we haven't had any thunderstorms.
I saw the report about Maddie on the news, it makes me so angry at her parents who left not only Maddie alone but also the other two little ones.  We'll probably never know what happened to her.
Take care

Like Carol (previous comment) I'm disgusted with the parents of Madeleine for going out and leaving her, especially in a strange country. Jeannette xx

I don't understand the lack of parenting that put this little girl in danger.  As an immature teenage mom of two, even I had better sense than to just leave them.  My baby ducklings followed me everywhere or I didn't go out on any jaunt.  No jaunts for years truthfully.

No childcare, no adult time.  Simple as taking responsibility for bringing the child on the earth.

I hope if she's met a tragic ending her body will be recovered and returned to the family.  If she's been adopted out by a kidnapper to someone else, perhaps the illegally adoptive parents will have a conscience with so much media attention.  My personal take on it is that it was a job done by one of the parents.

Wishing better weather and better days ahead for you,

wow Guido I wish we knew (sigh)
however it is interesting to note that the press here wrongly blamed a couple (as well as the DA in this Colorado town) for killing their little girl. Now that the mother has died of cancer and the couple moved to Atlanta it was discovered that there was foreign DNA on her panties and lets from a strange man!
go figure
