This little goldfinch (and its not pictured mate) enjoyed the sour cherries outside our window. You don't need to venture out to enjoy the birdlife.

The Shell Gallery
This is the archive of The Shell Gallery blog, which was active between 2008 and 2018. It is dedicated to the memory of my mother, who died in May 2008, and to that of my father, who passed away in August 2022. 
The Watch Tower stands to the north, overlooking the open Heathlands
The Shell Gallery also refers to the island of Vlieland, which has zillions of shells on its beaches.

Uncharacteristically for me of late, all the blinds in my apartment are up to let the sun & sights in. This atheist even has a perfect view of the local Salvation Army church cross from her windows & balcony. Rarely bird sightings in this urban area, but some beauty still.
