Saturday 29 December
A bright and breezy day, and quite mild, with the mercury at 11C / 52F. That is set to go down over the next few days, as the year comes to a close. Went for a walk in the Heathlands, north of the village, in the afternoon, and was not the only one who had that idea. It was most enjoyable for all that.

Fascinating to see another country the subject of your observations and photography. I see many similarities with Lewis, as well as the obvious differences. Hope you are enjoying your time with family. Tomorrow brings thoughts of Iolaire, as it is the anniversary of its departure for Lewis. Such a sad and haunting story. I will think of it again as I usher in the New Year, which is also the birthday of our eldest child. Happy New Year to you!
