On New Year's Eve, we have a family birthday. So, off we went on the train (again). To that end, we took the local bus to Arnhem, then the fast train to Utrecht (40 miles to the west) and then a stopping service to a halt near Hilversum. And reversed the process in the evening. On New Year's Eve, trains stop running in Holland at 8pm, meaning you must be at your destination well before then. Which we managed.
