Changeable

Sunday came in with a good ole crash bang whallop thunderstorm at midnight, with lightning discharges within 1 km. It passed over within an hour, by which time I was fast asleep. The day dawned misty and grey, but the sun burned all the murk away by lunchtime, leaving a warm and sunny day, with only some cumulus clouds and high cirrus in the skies.

Needless to say, we went for a walk of some 9 or 10 miles. Crossed the heathlands to the Watchtower, thence onto the Posbank. There is a restaurant there, which was very well frequented outside, but much less inside. Not as many cyclists about as I had expected, but then it was a bitty on the warm side. Returned through Velp and the short cut behind the school. Pictures on the usual location.

Oh, alerts have really fallen flat on their face. Zero today, although there were quite a few comments. I've emailed the journalseditor, so am expecting a reply by 6pm at the earliest tomorrow.

A 9 - 10 mile walk???  That seems so much for someone like me who is (sadly) used to driving even a few blocks away.... LOL!!!  I'm rethinking this whole thing though, with gas prices the way they are.  Well, I'm not sure if you're opening alerts right now anyway... but here's my link, if you've nothing better to do.

Take Care,
Joann

I couldn't even do the walking you do let alone the bike riding.  You must be very fit, Guido.  But I think you folks across the pond do a lot more walking & biking than we do here in America anyway.  Of course now I'm dealing with a very sore right knee. So am doing limited walking anyway.  No sun here today, at just after 1:30 in the afternoon it's just slighty over 50 degrees and overcast. Linda in WA http://journals.aol.com/lsfp1960/LindasWo

Now that was a long walk. If you Dad went with you he is in very good physical shape as you are. Great pictures. Helen

I could really use some of that rain.  All the heat is making me irritable.

I used to love a good long walk in the fresh air then sit down indoors for a Pub meal.  It was the rising up to get home again that became difficult once firmly ensconsed in a comfy chair with my bootlaces slackened off.  Lol!
You both had a lovely long walk together.  Hope you dined well too.
