Memory lane

I did not take any pictures today, as the weather was too poor and cool to venture out of doors. It was grey and wet. Instead, my father and I selected more than 50 pictures from his own photographs. This spanned the period between 1990 and 2004, when my mother and father went on walking holidays in the UK and elsewhere in Europe. Needless to say that my own link to the UK stems from that involvement, which goes back to the mid-70s. It was nice to see mum again in her halcyon days. Great memories, particularly for my father. I think it helped us another step along that long road.

I was just sitting here wondering if you were OK, and up popped your alert.
The weather has been pretty similar here today, cold and wet.  We even had to put the central heating on again.
Memory Lane is a nice place to be sometimes.  It helps to remember happy times I think.
Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers Guido.
Take care

I'm so glad your parents visited the UK or maybe you wouldn't have come over here and we wouldn't have met such a great journaller. I'm glad you and your dad feel able to go through the photos of the old days. It will help you, it's a long road back but you and your dad are getting along it, I'm sure he's so happy to have you around to help him. Jeannette xx

I so understand the grief journey.  I have lost close friends, my youngest brother, my Dad, and all of my grandparents.  I am currently working on a project for my family of pictures of my brother that I will put on a CD with music.  I am making one for each of them.  The anniversary of his death is on June 18th.  He died nine years ago now.  He was only 23.  I still miss him.  There is still a big black hole in my life where he isn't.  I got photos from my Mom, my sis, my cousin, and are putting some of my own in the mix.  That way, we will all have different photos of him we didn't have before.  When I first started working on this project, I bawled my eyes out.  The more I work with them, the easier it has gotten and it has helped me remember the many good times along the way.  Just another step of the grief process.  Please know you are in my thoughts and my prayers.  My heart truly goes out to you.

Blessings!~

Susan
